Job summary

HTX – Home Team Science & Technology Agency’s Forensics Centre of Expertise seeks a Senior Forensic Scientist to advance automated analytical testing solutions and on-site environmental monitoring systems. You will contribute to drug detection projects and broader forensic innovations, translating operational needs into deployable capabilities.

You will work hands-on with multidisciplinary teams, develop validation reports, ensure data integrity and uphold safety and ethical research practices

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in chemistry or analytical sciences.
• Experience with analytical instrumentation and environmental monitoring tech.
• Familiarity with method validation and quality frameworks in forensic contexts.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to capability development of automated workflows and field-deployable testing systems.
• Design, evaluate, and integrate sensing technologies for real-time monitoring.
• Support drug detection projects and rapid testing platforms.
• Develop and validate automated testing workflows and performance studies.
• Collaborate with digital systems and dashboards integration.
• Conduct trials, collect data, troubleshoot platforms, and write validation reports.
