Job summary

HTX is seeking a qualified professional to join the Digital & Information Forensics Centre of Expertise. The role focuses on researching open-source investigations, cloud sources, and developing platforms and tools for digital forensic analysis.

You will collaborate with investigators, prototype and improve forensic processes, stay current with emerging technologies, and manage proof-of-concept projects with vendors. Two-year contracts apply for new appointees.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• Proficient in cloud technologies and architecture: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Programming experience with Python or scripting languages.
• Knowledge of open-source investigation techniques.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and forensics concepts.
• Experience with agile project delivery from concept to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Perform research in open-source investigations, cloud sources and services for forensics and investigations.
• Develop platforms, tools, algorithms and techniques to collect, analyse and interpret digital evidence.
• Collaborate with Forensic Examiners and Investigators to integrate tools into workflows.
• Evaluate, prototype, test and enhance forensic tools and processes.
• Stay updated on trends in digital forensics, cloud platforms and related fields.
• Oversee and liaise with vendors for proof-of-concept projects.
