Job summary

PUB, The National Water Agency in Singapore is seeking an Engineer / Senior Engineer / Assistant Director to join the Flood Resilience Planning Department. You will develop strategies and engineering designs for inland drainage and coastal protection to address climate risks, including sea-level rise and heavier rainfall.

You will assess flood risks, evaluate options, coordinate with consultants and stakeholders, and prepare project papers with cost estimates and funding proposals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Environmental or Coastal Engineering.
• Experience in hydraulics, drainage or coastal engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of flood risk assessment and cost‑benefit analysis is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support planning scoping and coordination of coastal protection and drainage studies.
• Interpret hydraulic/coastal models to assess capacity and flood risks.
• Engage stakeholders through pre-consultations and discussions on drainage measures.
• Coordinate with consultants to ensure studies meet agency requirements.
• Develop and compare drainage and coastal protection options considering costs and site constraints.
• Assist tender processes and evaluate submissions.
• Monitor progress and ensure compliance with contracts and codes.
• Prepare project papers with options, cost estimates and funding proposals.
• Review alternative drainage schemes with design and construction teams.
