Job summary

The National Environment Agency (NEA) in Singapore is seeking a seasoned finance professional to join our Finance Department. You will perform broad accounting functions including revenue, payables, month-end close, fixed assets, costing, bank reconciliations and management reporting.

The role requires a degree in Accountancy with at least 6 years' relevant experience, strong judgement, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and under pressure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accountancy or related discipline with minimum 6 years of relevant experience.
• Independent, hardworking, positive and highly motivated with flexibility and resourcefulness.
• Meticulous with sound judgement and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform finance and accounting functions including revenue collection, accounts payable, month/year-end closing, fixed assets, costing, bank reconciliations and management reports.
• Review work processes for system enhancement and internal controls.
• Lead preparation, consolidation, and submission of periodic returns.
• Liaise with departments/divisions and ministries/agencies on returns and submissions.
• Provide advice and support on financial matters.
• Prepare audit schedules for statutory and other audits.
• Attend to requests or enquiries from external and internal customers.
