Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to oversee the maintenance and operation of M&E facilities in a high-rise office building. The role requires hands-on management of electrical and mechanical services, with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will supervise a team and external contractors, ensuring responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and adherence to service standards while coordinating with the Employer to minimize disruption and maintain building performance.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience maintaining M&E systems in high-rise office buildings.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain M&E facilities in the building.
• Oversee day-to-day M&E systems and plan repairs, maintenance and improvements.
• Develop, implement and review maintenance regimes and processes; drive improvements to building services.
• Supervise outsourced contractors to ensure minimal disruption to building operations.
• Attend monthly employer meetings and be on-site during emergencies as required.
• Carry out daily inspections to ensure site is well maintained and compliant with service standards.
• Enforce fire safety rules and safety measures on site.
• Act on employer instructions and coordinate with contractors to execute tasks promptly.

About the Role

• Responsible for the management and maintenance of the M&E facilities in the Building.
• Oversee functions and activities of day-to-day M&E systems and prepare a systematic approach to repair, maintenance and improvement work to the Building.
• Develop, implement, review and maintain the maintenance regime and processes review processes and implement improvement to building services.
• Oversees the works carried out by the outsourced contractors and to ensure minimal disruption to the building operation.
• Attend all monthly meetings with the Employer and be physically present on-site during emergencies unless obtained the prior permission from the Employer to absent himself/ herself from the meeting or emergencies, and that an authorised representative will be attending on his/her behalf.
• The Engineer shall carry out daily inspections under the Contract to ensure that the Site is well maintained. The Employer may as and when require request for joint inspection.
• To carry out daily maintenance of M&E systems/ building activities.
• To supervise and ensure all M&E and building services under the Contract are properly maintained and in efficient operating condition.
• To monitor all scheduled, breakdown and unscheduled and cyclical maintenance works.
• To schedule, monitor and ensure scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities and additional M&E and building services under the Contract are carried out effectively.
• To supervise a team of staff deployed on site.
• To carry out daily inspection of M&E systems and building to ensure that are defects are promptly rectified as spelt out in the service standard.
• Assist in enforcing fire safety rules and policing for fire safety measures for the Site.
• Any instruction given by the Employer to the Engineer shall be deemed to be instructions to the Contractor who shall carry them out expeditiously.

About You

• Degree/diploma in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 8 years relevant experience in maintaining M&E systems in the high-rise office buildings.
• Must have practical knowledge of building services and M&E operations such as air conditioning system, electrical system and capable of troubleshooting system breakdowns.
