Job summary

Caliber8 in Singapore is seeking an experienced Demurrage Claims Specialist to manage end-to-end demurrage and laytime claims within a shipping environment.

You will analyse calculations, negotiate with counterparties and settlements, and coordinate documentation with shipping stakeholders, including Chinese-speaking parties, to ensure efficient claim resolution.

Qualifications

• 3-4+ years of experience in demurrage / laytime claims
• Strong knowledge of laytime calculations, charter party terms and claim documentation
• Experience handling and negotiating demurrage claims with counterparties
• Good understanding of shipping / tanker / commodity operations
• Chinese speaking capability for communication with Chinese-speaking stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Manage demurrage / laytime claims end-to-end, from calculation through negotiation and settlement
• Prepare and review claim documentation, liaise with counterparts and shipping stakeholders
• Analyze contracts and charter party terms to apply correct laytime calculations
• Negotiate settlements and ensure timely closure of claims
• Maintain accurate records and support ongoing process improvements
