Senior Equipment Engineer - Semiconductor Manufacturing

Job summary

SSMC (Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Company Pte. Ltd.) in Singapore is seeking a Principal Equipment Engineer to join the Photo, Equipment Eng. II department.

You will lead equipment performance improvements and work with vendors to resolve issues for daily production. The ideal candidate has a MSc or Bachelor in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics engineering, 3-5 years in semiconductor manufacturing, strong technical knowledge and leadership.

Qualifications

• MSc/Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
• Sound engineering knowledge, semiconductor devices theory, electronics, control systems, and wafer fabrication processes.
• Leadership qualities: leading, motivating, and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Sustain and improve equipment performance indices to meet operations goals.
• Coordinate with vendors and other departments to troubleshoot equipment issues and drive improvement projects.
• Lead Continuous Improvement for cost, yield, productivity, uptime, and defense systems.
• Review line practices for continuous improvement and pre-emptive defense system implementations.
• Own tool-related metrics: cost, uptime, wafer scrap, parts management, rework, and memo reduction.
• Be on 24/7 standby for ad hoc tool issues and decision making.
• Chair discussions to resolve equipment issues to support daily production.
• Coordinate new equipment startup and relocation to support production plans.
• Update operating instructions and SOPs to document best practices.
• Provide training materials and certifications for new engineers and PM crew, maintaining team morale.
• Involve in Tech Transfer activities and collaborate with Process Counter Parts.
• Lead/participate in cross-functional activities for company projects.
• Lead Transform Platform and generate LSS, BKMs and trade secrets for value creation.
• Lead in machine part repair and R&M reduction for self-sufficiency.
• Ensure 6S housekeeping and adherence to cleanroom protocols.
• Establish channels with Mother FAB to transfer knowledge and benchmarking.
• Review RTM, SPC, alarms, Tableau, and EMAP daily and report updates in production meetings.

Education

MSc/Bachelor Degree in Mechanical / Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent

3-5 years of relevant experience in semiconductor manufacturing

Sound engineering knowledge including wafer fabrication processes

Leadership qualities: leading, motivating, developing others
