Job summary

NEA in Singapore is seeking a Radiation Protection regulatory professional to implement the Radiation Protection Act and related regulations, ensuring radiation users comply with safety requirements across the country.

You will process licence applications, evaluate health and environmental impacts, guide applicants, and conduct inspections of facilities handling irradiating materials, reporting findings to the Regulation Division.

What the role is

The Radiation Protection and Nuclear Science Group in NEA is Singapore's national authority for radiation protection, safeguarding the public, radiation workers and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation. Our Regulation Division administers and enforces the Radiation Protection Act and Regulations through licensing and inspections.

What you will be working on

• Implementing the Radiation Protection Act and its Regulations, ensuring that all users of radiation comply with safety requirements across Singapore
• Processing applications for radiation licences and where necessary, seek clarification from applicants on their licence applications
• Evaluating health and environmental impacts of radiation exposure
• Providing guidance to applicants in their licence applications and enquiries on licensing-related matters
• Conducting inspections, where necessary, of medical and industrial premises that handle irradiating apparatus/radioactive materials and prepare inspection reports and assessments based on the information gathered from inspections
• Performing other duties as may be required of you under purview of the Regulation Division
