Job summary

NEA National Environment Agency in Singapore invites an engineer to contribute to planning, development and management of future solid waste management infrastructure projects, including potential pilot carbon capture facilities aligned with the SG Green Plan 2030.

The role involves feasibility studies, planning, design reviews, tender preparation, supervising consultants and contractors, and ensuring projects meet safety, timelines and budget requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant engineering experience preferred.
• Knowledge of solid waste management systems and project management is advantageous.
• Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Mature, independent, and highly self-motivated with adaptability.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Medical declaration or additional assessments may be required during shortlisting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, planning and design reviews for waste infra projects.
• Obtain planning approvals and funding support as needed.
• Plan schedules and ensure timely project execution.
• Administer tender processes and appoint consultants/contractors.
• Supervise on-site works and ensure safety, timeliness and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage funding and budget cycles for projects.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on projects.
