Job summary

ASM in Singapore invites software engineers to join the Software Engineering team to build development, test, and automation infrastructure for advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Based in Singapore, you will collaborate with teams across the US, Europe and Asia, with opportunities for travel to connect our global DevOps efforts.

You will shape on‑premise infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering tools, using Python, Bash, PowerShell, and React-based web apps, while tackling

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on knowledge of Linux and/or Windows systems, including configuration, scripting, troubleshooting, or system administration.
• Programming or automation experience with Python and either Bash or PowerShell.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and experience with, or strong interest in learning, GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Working knowledge of Git and modern software development practices.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
• Experience developing web applications using React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Interest in working with computer hardware and physical infrastructure, not only software or cloud environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to collaborate globally and travel periodically between Singapore, Asia, and the United States.

• Build, configure, and maintain on-premise hardware and software infrastructure used for software development, integration, and testing.
• Design and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Automate system setup, builds, deployments, testing, and infrastructure workflows usingPython, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• DevelopReact-based web applications and engineering tools that provide common infrastructure capabilities across product teams.
• Configure and troubleshootLinux and Windows systems, networking, storage, operating systems, servers, and development environments.
• Build and supportphysical development and test environments, including computer hardware, system imaging, equipment interfaces, and simulation environments.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, QA, IT, Systems, and other engineering teams to improve development and validation workflows.
• Help createstandardized engineering infrastructure across products and locations, making development environments easier to deploy, maintain, monitor, and scale.
• Work with engineering teams across United States, Europe, and Asia, including periodic international travel to deploy infrastructure and collaborate with local teams.

This role goes beyond traditional cloud DevOps. This role is focused on on-premise servers, physical test systems, networking, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and web-based engineering tools that connect development environments across our products and engineering teams.

Based in Singapore, you will also collaborate across our engineering locations in United States, Europe, and Asia with opportunities for international travel to help build and connect our global DevOps infrastructure.

• Building PCs, servers, home labs, networking environments, or other hands-on hardware projects.

• Django or other Python-based web application frameworks.
• REST APIs and integration between web applications and backend services.
• VMware or Hyper-V.
