Job summary

Dyson Singapore seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer in the Product Performance group to analyze and optimize hair styling and drying performance, identify fundamental factors, and design tests and predictive models.

You will work with MATLAB, Minitab, Excel; perform statistical modelling, collaborate across disciplines, and guide junior engineers while maintaining rigorous documentation and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ideally 5+ years’ experience in product design and development or equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, measurement analysis and statistical analysis.
• Competency in Minitab, MATLAB or Excel or other data acquisition/processing tool.
• Some competencies in the use and application of CAD/CAE tools in general are preferred.
• Reasonable experience in statistical modelling such as multiple regression modelling is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to coach less experienced engineers and to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify fundamental factors contributing to performance metrics.
• Utilize modeling tools to make optimizations or predictions.
• Analyze data from tests or analyses with high technical rigor.
• Design test plans to identify and optimize performance and customer experience.
• Create predictive models using scripts, Excel, or Minitab and advise on suitable approaches.
• Propose design mitigations to achieve performance targets.
• Formulate clear problem statements and highlight risks.
• Weight complex interactions between systems and balance customer and company goals.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver optimized performance aligned with product vision.
• Document work clearly for future reference and guide junior team members.
