Job summary

PHOENIX RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead design for major MRT and civil infrastructure projects in Singapore.

You will drive design development from concept to detailed design, ensuring compliance with MRT/LTA standards and local codes, while coordinating with managers, consultants and authorities. The role requires 8–12 years of civil infrastructure experience, MRT/LTA project exposure, and strong software proficiency (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, BIM).

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–12+ years of civil infrastructure experience; MRT/LTA experience is mandatory.
• Experience in MRT/LTA projects (roads, tunnels, bridges, drainage, utilities).
• Main Contractor experience required and familiarity with Singapore codes/submission procedures.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review design deliverables per MRT/LTA standards, contract requirements and project specs.
• Prepare design schedules aligned with construction timelines.
• Oversee design development from concept to detailed design.
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and MRT/LTA submissions.
• Coordinate MRT/LTA submissions with authorities for approval.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and value engineering.
• Liaise with Project Managers, Consultants, Contractors, and Authorities.
• Identify and resolve design issues and clashes through coordination meetings.
• Support tender and procurement with technical evaluations.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and design coordinators.
• Ensure documentation control, drawing management and revision tracking.
• Monitor design progress, resources and man-hours for efficiency.
• Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections and clarifications.
• Ensure constructability, safety and sustainability are integrated into design.

SENIOR ENGINEER (MRT/LTA project experience is a MUST)

Our client is a reputable Contractor within engineering and construction projects, known for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions across transportation and civil sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and review engineering design deliverables in accordance with MRT/LTA standards , contract requirements, and project specifications
• Prepare and manage design schedules, ensuring alignment with construction timelines
• Oversee design development from conceptual to detailed design stages
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, codes of practice, and MRT/LTA submission requirements
• Manage and coordinate submissions to MRT/LTA and other relevant authorities for approval
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and value engineering exercises
• Liaise closely with Project Managers, Consultants, Contractors, and Authorities
• Identify and resolve design issues, discrepancies, and clashes through coordination meetings

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure projects
• Mandatory experience in MRT/LTA projects (e.g., roads, MRT/LTA, tunnels, bridges, drainage, utilities)
• Main Contractor Experience required
• Strong knowledge of Singapore codes and submission procedures
• Proficient in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D,MicroStation, BIM tools)
• Experience in design coordination and multidisciplinary interface management
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Familiarity with BIM processes and digital design coordination tools is an advantage
