Job summary

St Engineering seeks a Mechanical/Marine & Offshore engineer to lead projects from Benoi Road facilities. You will deploy manpower, monitor drawings, attend progress meetings, assess staff performance, and liaise with owners and class inspectors to ensure on-time delivery and quality.

The role requires interpreting technical drawings, applying welding/NDT knowledge, and ensuring compliance with shipbuilding standards while planning budgets and reducing waste.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/ Marine & Offshore engineering.
  • Preferably 3–5 years of working experiences; note some postings may accept less.
  • Experience in marine industry or similar capacity.
  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of shipbuilding and repair standards.
  • Knowledge of welding methods/WPS/PQR and NDT methods.
  • Knowledge of class requirements.

Job description

  • Deploy and effective utilization of manpower and material resources in the department. In addition, liaising with other departments on daily production schedule.
  • Generate and monitor drawings/ technical information issuing schedule
  • Attend assigned project progress and HAT meeting
  • Assess staff work performance under his charge as required
  • Identify training needs for his men
  • Monitor job quality, progress, man hours, and productivity of the assigned job.
  • Study and evaluate the work processes and methods of the department. He also needs to explore new ideas to improve work quality and productivity.
  • Liaise with owners representative and/or class surveyor during witness/inspection
  • Plan & execute to meet the project schedule and department budget.
  • Plan & withdraw department consumables required for project.
Quality
  • Evaluate technical/ engineering requirements of the jobs, and review drawings.
  • Resolve any technical problems or issues with OEM/ class/ owner on site.
  • Monitor and ensure quality work is produced at targeted schedule
Safety
  • Attend assigned project VSCC meeting (if applicable)
  • Participate in department safety work plan
  • Conduct activities which meet regulatory requirements like tools expiry check, protection etc
  • Able to plan with his resources for his project and complete it in time
Requirements
