Job summary

ST Engineering Singapore is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to oversee manpower and material resources for marine/offshore projects and to coordinate daily production schedules with other departments. The role includes issuing drawings and attending progress meetings to ensure on-time delivery.

You will monitor quality, safety, and productivity, assess staff performance, and identify training needs while ensuring compliance with class requirements and OEM standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in mechanical/marine engineering.
• 3–5 years working experience preferred; open to applicants with no experience.
• Experience in marine industry or similar capacity.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of welding methods, NDT, and class requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deploy manpower and materials to meet project schedules.

Job description

• Deploy and effective utilization of manpower and material resources in the department. In addition, liaising with other departments on daily production schedule.
• Generate and monitor drawings/ technical information issuing schedule
• Attend assigned project progress and HAT meeting
• Assess staff work performance under his charge as required
• Identify training needs for his men
• Monitor job quality, progress, man hours, and productivity of the assigned job.
• Study and evaluate the work processes and methods of the department. He also needs to explore new ideas to improve work quality and productivity.
• Liaise with owners representative and/or class surveyor during witness/inspection
• Plan & execute to meet the project schedule and department budget.
• Plan & withdraw department consumables required for project.

Quality

• Evaluate technical/ engineering requirements of the jobs, and review drawings.
• Resolve any technical problems or issues with OEM/ class/ owner on site.
• Monitor and ensure quality work is produced at targeted schedule

Safety

• Attend assigned project VSCC meeting (if applicable)
• Participate in department safety work plan
• Conduct activities which meet regulatory requirements like tools expiry check, protection etc
• Able to plan with his resources for his project and complete it in time

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/ Marine & Offshore engineering
• Preferably 3 – 5 years of working experiences
• No experience may apply
• Work in marine industry or similar capacity
• Knowledge of shipbuilding and repair standard
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specification.
• Knowledge of different welding methods/ WPS/ PQR and NDT methods
• Knowledge of class requirements
