Job summary

Surbana Jurong is seeking an experienced energy modeler to develop, calibrate, and validate detailed models for buildings, campuses, and energy systems using EnergyPlus, IES-VE, and Design Builder.

You will lead modeling projects, establish QA/QC standards, collaborate with architects and engineers, and present results to clients and regulators while mentoring junior staff to advance decarbonization and code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, calibrate, and validate detailed energy models for buildings, campuses, and energy systems using industry-standard tools (EnergyPlus, IES-VE, Design Builder).
• Conduct modeling to support high-performance design, code compliance (ASHRAE 90.1), green building certifications (Green Mark, LEED, Green Star, BREEAM), and incentive programs.
• Analyze HVAC system performance, envelope strategies, renewables integration, and decarbonization pathways.
• Establish modeling standards, workflows, QA/QC procedures, and documentation protocols.
• Lead scoping, planning, and execution of complex modeling tasks across multiple projects.
• Keep current with new modeling technologies, energy codes, decarbonization strategies, and simulation techniques.
• Present energy modeling results to project teams, clients, utilities, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, sustainability consultants, and project managers to inform design decisions.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams regarding energy codes, performance targets, and modeling implications.
• Train and support junior modelers in software proficiency, methodology, and analysis best practices.
• Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to internal capability building.
