Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electronic/Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years in software/firmware testing for industrial automation (DCS/PLC/SCADA/I-O).
• Experience with PLC programming tools: CodeSys, SoMachine, Unity.
• Knowledge of Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, CANOpen a plus.
• Scripting skills for automated tests: C/C++, Python; Autolt a plus.
• Experience with Agile environments; JIRA familiarity a plus.
• Test automation skills and tools such as TestComplete, Jenkins a plus.
• Strong communication; able to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Create and review automated test conditions, scripts, input test data, and expected results.
• Participate in test planning for agile/scrum development/testing.
• Analyze functional/technical specs to derive automated regression test cases.
• Identify issues/risks and escalate with mitigations.
• Prepare regression tests, ad hoc and re-tests as required.
• Collaborate with test leader and scrum team on issues affecting schedule/quality.
• Contribute to test process improvements and quality initiatives.
• Assist test leader with test reports and exit criteria evaluation.
• Submit bug reports and coordinate with developers for workarounds and fixes.

Job Description

The Project team based in Singapore is developing communication modules for connecting Input-Output Modules to controllers and Input-Output Modules. The test engineer must build the test infrastructure and to define and implement tests.

Requirements

• Bachelor/Master of Electronic and/or Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in Test Automation preferably with 3 to 5 year experience in software/firmware testing for industrial automation products like DCS, PLC, SCADA, I/O systems
• Experience and knowledge PLC programming software like CodeSys, SoMachine, Unity
• Experience in communication protocol implementation (Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, CANOpen is a plus) would be advantage
• Solid scripting skills for automated test scripts using C/C++, Python, Autolt is a plus
• Experience/Knowledge of an Agile environment preferably with using JIRA is a plus
• Preferably with test automation skills and knowledge of automated test tools (e.g.Test Complete, Jenkins)
• Proactive and has good communication skills, can work with people with diverse culture

2. Job Expectations

• Create and review automated test conditions, test scripts, input test data, and expected results for the functional verification testing
• Participate in test planning activities for agile/scrum development/testing
• Analyze functional and technical specification for regression test cases to derive automated test cases and scenarios
• Identify issues and risks relating to tasks and elevate appropriately and suggest mitigating actions
• Prepare regression tests, ad hoc and re-tests as required
• Collaborate with the test leader/test strategy leader and scrum team on any issues that may affect the test schedule, quality of the product or the testing process
• Proactive in contributing to test process improvement initiatives and enhancement to current procedures including recommending quality improvements
• Assist the test leader/test strategy leader with test reports and evaluating exit criteria to gain approval from key stakeholders
• Submit bug reports and collaborate with developers and co-test engineers the workaround, resolution including fix verification and validation
