Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Staff, Systems Design - System Architect to provide technical architecture and leadership for firmware and low-level embedded software across advanced instruments and laboratory automation platforms.

You will define firmware architecture for motors, sensors, optics, and electro-mechanical subsystems, and work with electrical, mechanical, systems, and software teams to translate product needs into robust firmware solutions.

Formación

• Advanced degree plus 6 years of firmware/embedded experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for firmware development.
• Experience with hardware interfaces and real-time systems.

Responsabilidades

• Lead firmware architecture and technical design for instrument controllers and embedded subsystems.
• Define hardware abstraction, firmware boundaries, interfaces, and real-time behavior.
• Translate requirements into firmware specifications and implementation plans.
• Architect firmware for motion control, sensors, actuators, and optics.
• Establish reusable firmware platforms and coding standards across products.
• Mentor engineers and influence firmware roadmaps and tooling.
