Job summary

Advario Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) Engineer to drive automation design and integration across refinery and large process plants in Singapore. You will lead BPCS/ICSS projects, safety systems and process control strategies.

The role requires at least 5 years of hands-on EI&C experience, familiarity with ISA standards, OPC UA and industrial protocols, and a proactive approach to maintenance, documentation and project management.

Qualifications

• Min. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable university or equivalent.
• Min. 5 years of hands-on engineering experience in refinery, large marine terminals or process plants.
• Strong knowledge of ICSS, PLC, BPCS, F&G SCS and SCS system.
• Strong knowledge in industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with process control algorithms and instrumentation calibration.
• Familiarity with automation tools and software (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, etc.).
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving automation and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with electrical infrastructure and design in industrial environments.
• Experience applying ISA-88 (batch control), ISA-95 (enterprise integration), OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP.
• Knowledge of predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
• Strong knowledge of ATEX and NFPA requirements in Oil and Gas industry.
• Familiarity with project management including contractor and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and implementation of automation systems including BPCS, PLC, SCS and Fire and Gas safety systems.
• Evaluate Functional Design Specifications and supervise updates to Integrated Control and Safety System per Advario standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand process requirements and develop automation solutions.
• Develop and integrate control strategies using sensors, flow computers, batch controllers and actuators.
• Integrate control systems into the ICSS framework and ensure compliance with IEC, ISO, ADTS and industry best practices.
• Ensure safety features are incorporated in automation systems for high-risk environments.
• Optimize process performance and automation for efficiency, reliability and safety.
• Provide maintenance and support to minimize downtime; prepare documentation and SOPs.
• Lead PHA/HAZOP for automation projects and manage budgets, schedules and resources.
• Provide training to plant operators and engineers; create system diagrams and process flowcharts.

We are looking for a

Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) Engineer (m/f/d)

to join our Engineering department at Advario in Singapore, starting as soon as possible.

Your Tasks:

1) Automation & Process control and Instrumentation System Design and Development

• Lead the design, development and implementation of automation systems, including BPCS ( Basic Process and control system, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCS (Safety Control System ), F&G SCS ( Fire and Gas Safety Control System ), and other industrial automation technologies
• Evaluate Functional Design Specifications, supervise changes to Integrated Control and Safety System in accordance to Advario technical standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand process requirements and develop automation solutions.
• Develop and integrate process control strategies using instrumentation such as sensors, flow computer, batch controller, electric and pneumatic actuators
• Integrate various control systems and instrumentation into the overall automation framework - e.g ICSS ( Integrated Control and Safety System )
• Ensure automation systems and processes comply with industry standards, ADTS regulations and best practices (such as IEC, ISO)
• Work to ensure safety features are incorporated into automation systems, especially in high-risk environments
• Continuously optimize process performance and automation systems for increased efficiency, reliability, and safety.

2) Maintenance and Support

• Provide ongoing support for automation systems, ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution of any faults or malfunctions
• Prepare and maintain documentation for automation systems, including standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides
• Analyze system performance data and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades

3) Project Management

• Prepare budgets for automation projects, CAPEX and OPEX including tender packages
• Manage schedules, and resources for automation-related projects
• Lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and/or Hazard & Operability Studies (HAZOP) for automation projects

4) Training and Documentation

• Provide training to plant operators, engineers, and other team members on automation systems and equipment
• Create and update technical documentation, including system diagrams, process flowcharts
• Prepare and maintain documentation for automation systems, including standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides

5) Continuous Improvement

• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in process automation and instrumentation.
• Suggest and implement new automation tools or techniques to improve process efficiency and reduce costs.

Your Profile:
