Job summary

Advario Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. in Singapore seeks a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join the Engineering Team on Jurong Island. You will lead automation system design, development, and implementation across ICSS, PLC, BPCS and safety systems.

You will also provide maintenance support, document procedures, perform PHA/HAZOP studies, and train operators. The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years in Oil & Gas or petrochemical environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience as an EIC Engineer in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industries.
• Strong knowledge of ICSS, PLC, BPCS, F&G SCS and related systems.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC/ISO.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of automation, instrumentation and control systems (ICSS, PLC, BPCS).
• Evaluate Functional Design Specifications and supervise changes to Integrated Control and Safety System per Advario standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate process requirements into automation solutions.
• Develop and integrate process control strategies using sensors, actuators and flow computers.
• Integrate control systems into the overall automation framework and ensure compliance with ATEX and NFPA requirements.
• Provide maintenance support, document procedures, and lead safety analyses (PHA/HAZOP) as needed.
• Deliver training and maintain technical documentation.

Job description

We are hiring a Senior Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Advario Singapore. The primary work location for this position is Jurong Island.

Key Tasks

1) Automation & Process control and Instrumentation System Design and Development

• Lead the design, development and implementation of automation systems, including BPCS ( Basic Process and control system, PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCS (Safety Control System ), F&G SCS ( Fire and Gas Safety Control System ), and other industrial automation technologies

• Evaluate Functional Design Specifications, supervise changes to Integrated Control and Safety System in accordance to Advario technical standards

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand process requirements and develop automation solutions.

• Develop and integrate process control strategies using instrumentation such as sensors, flow computer, batch controller, electric and pneumatic actuators

• Integrate various control systems and instrumentation into the overall automation framework – e.g ICSS ( Integrated Control and Safety System )

• Ensure automation systems and processes comply with industry standards, ADTS regulations and best practices (such as IEC, ISO)

• Work to ensure safety features are incorporated into automation systems, especially in high-risk environments

• Continuously optimize process performance and automation systems for increased efficiency, reliability, and safety.

2) Maintenance and Support

• Provide ongoing support for automation systems, ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution of any faults or malfunctions

• Prepare and maintain documentation for automation systems, including standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides

• Analyze system performance data and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades

3) Project Management

• Prepare budgets for automation projects, CAPEX and OPEX including tender packages

• Manage schedules, and resources for automation-related projects

• Lead Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and/or Hazard & Operability Studies (HAZOP) for automation projects

4) Training and Documentation

• Provide training to plant operators, engineers, and other team members on automation systems and equipment

• Create and update technical documentation, including system diagrams, process flowcharts

• Prepare and maintain documentation for automation systems, including standard operating procedures and troubleshooting guides

5) Continuous Improvement

• Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in process automation and instrumentation.

• Suggest and implement new automation tools or techniques to improve process efficiency and reduce costs.

Your Profile

• Possess at least a Degree in Electrical Engineering

• Has at least 5 years of working experience as an EIC Engineer in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industry

• Strong knowledge of ICSS, PLC, BPCS, F&G SCS and SCS system

• Strong knowledge in industrial communication protocols

• Experience with process control algorithms and instrumentation calibration

• Familiarity with automation tools and software (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, etc.)

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving automation and electrical systems

• Familiarity with electrical infrastructure and design in industrial environments

• Experience applying ISA-88 (batch control), ISA-95 (enterprise integration), OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP

• Knowledge of predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance strategies

• Strong knowledge of ATEX and NFPA requirements in Oil and Gas industry

• Familiarity with project management including contractor and budget management
