Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards accreditation (preferred).
• Proven experience in working within multi-disciplinary teams delivering design for critical projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of electrical systems for data centre and critical infrastructure projects.
• Develop and review detailed HV/LV power distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, and critical power systems.
• Ensure designs meet uptime and redundancy requirements (N+1, 2N).
• Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
• Manage electrical engineering packages across multiple data centre projects from concept to commissioning.
• Collaborate with mechanical, ICT, structural, BIM teams for integrated solutions.
• Support project planning, budgeting, and risk management; participate in design reviews, FAT/SAT, and commissioning.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical solutions and delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers; promote knowledge sharing of data centre practices; build a high-performing team.
• Drive energy efficiency, redundancy optimisation, and sustainability initiatives; stay current with modular data centres, renewal integration and digital engineering workflows.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering complex electrical systems that power some of the most demanding digital infrastructure projects.

Technical Leadership & Design (Mission-Critical Systems)

• Lead the design of electrical systems for data centre and critical infrastructure projects
• Develop and review detailed designs for HV/LV power distribution, UPS systems, backup generators, switchgear, and critical power systems
• Ensure designs meet uptime, redundancy (e.g., N+1, 2N), and resilience requirements
• Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with relevant standards and best practices

Project Delivery

• Manage electrical engineering packages across multiple data centre projects from concept through to commissioning
• Collaborate with multi disciplinary teams (mechanical, ICT, structural, BIM) to deliver integrated solutions
• Support project planning, budgeting, and risk management activities
• Participate in design reviews, FAT/SAT processes, and commissioning phases

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical solutions and delivery requirements
• Provide expert advice on data centre electrical infrastructure and performance optimization
• Represent Black & White Engineering in client‑facing engagements and technical discussions

Mentorship & Team Development

• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers within the electrical team
• Promote knowledge sharing across data centre best practices and lessons learned
• Contribute to building a high‑performing, technically strong engineering team

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Drive innovation in energy efficiency, redundancy optimisation, and sustainability in data centres
• Stay current with evolving technologies such as modular data centres, renewable integration, and advanced monitoring systems
• Support the adoption of digital engineering and BIM in electrical design workflows

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Chartered Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards accreditation (preferred)
• Previous Consultant experience
• IES Electrical and Electronics Engineering Professional Membership desirable.
• Singapore Professional Engineer registration or progress towards beneficial.
• Proven experience in working within and running projects within a multi-disciplinary team with the successful delivery of the design for critical projects.
• Experience in project management and MEP engineering track record with some experience of data centres or other critical engineering facilities.
• Knowledge of MS Office applications Outlook, word, excel, PowerPoint etc
• Knowledge of Dialux, Trimble (Amtech) Etap/AutoCAD/Revit/ BIM/CAD calculation software.
• Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software.
• Significant experience in production of drawings, calculations, schedules & specifications for a range of building types
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the design process.
• Peripheral experience in architecture, structures, civils, security and permitting.
• Excellent understanding of the various code requirements and standards across the APAC region.
• Possess exceptional clear communication skills and command of spoken/written English.
• Have an appreciation of different cultures/races and embrace the same.
