Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Singapore to lead the design, implementation and optimisation of electrical systems across diverse projects. You will guide early concept through commissioning, ensuring safe, reliable and sustainable outcomes for transport, infrastructure and energy developments.

• Recognized tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Significant electrical engineering experience in a consulting environment with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Manager on small to moderate projects and Lead Electrical Engineer on low-to-medium risk projects.
• Provide detailed technical input, lead design development and review deliverables.
• Manage time, quality, budgets, forecasts, and change in scope for projects.

• Oversee site inspections, construction oversight and commissioning activities.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a leading role in the design, implementation and optimisation of electrical systems across a variety of project types. You will shape practical, effective and sustainable solutions that respond to each client’s needs, from early concept and detailed design through construction oversight and commissioning.

The Opportunity

• Act as Project Manager on small to moderate projects, Lead Electrical Engineer on low to medium-risk projects, and Task Manager across projects of varying scale.
• Provide detailed technical input, lead design development, review project reports and oversee the quality of electrical engineering deliverables in line with Arup's Quality Management systems.
• Manage project time, quality, budgets, forecasts and expenditure, while identifying changes in scope and supporting fee proposals for small and medium-sized projects.
• Lead client, authority and multidisciplinary meetings; communicate complex technical matters clearly; and build trusted relationships with collaborators and clients.
• Lead site inspections, support construction oversight and commissioning, and provide strategic advice on project outcomes under appropriate supervision.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, review the work of others, delegate effectively and help build the team’s technical and commercial capability.

Is this role right for you?

• A recognized tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Qualifications must be recognized by the Singapore PE board.
• Significant electrical engineering experience within a consulting business environment, including leading the development and implementation of solutions across a range of projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, relevant software and design tools, with an analytical approach to complex challenges.
• Proven leadership and project management capability, including managing project staff, resources, programmes, budgets, forecasts and quality with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, mentor colleagues and maintain a positive team culture under pressure.
