Job summary

Manpower Staffing Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Python Django. You will build robust REST APIs and backend services while implementing complex business logic and data workflows.

The role requires strong frontend basics (HTML/CSS/JS), collaboration with cross-functional teams, and participation in Agile ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 5–10+ years of software development experience.
• Hands-on with Python Django Framework.
• Proven experience with MariaDB/MySQL in high-volume environments.
• RESTful API development and integration experience.
• Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern web development practices.
• Experience with Linux and Git version control.
• Exposure to web servers like NGINX or Apache.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with SDLC, testing, and release management.
• Exposure to Java, Angular, React, and cloud platforms.
• Awareness of application security practices and Agile/Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Python Django.
• Build secure, scalable REST APIs and backend services.
• Implement complex business logic including risk calculations and workflows.
• Create responsive UI using HTML/CSS/JS.
• Collaborate with BAs, POs, and UX teams for intuitive UX.
• Ensure performance, cross-browser compatibility, and scalability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to product improvements.
• Maintain software engineering best practices: code quality, testing, security, and monitoring.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and production deployments.
• Provide Level 3 production support and troubleshoot issues.
• Contribute to system optimization and security/compliance initiatives.
