Job summary

Ministry of Defence of Singapore seeks a seasoned psychology professional to lead a team overseeing the development of Psychological Defence capabilities and provide comprehensive psychology support along a peace to war continuum.

You will work on evidence-based diagnostics, advise on readiness, and implement interventions to strengthen organisational effectiveness within a military context.

Qualifications

• Education in Psychology.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with commanders.
• Ability to establish partnerships with internal/external agencies.
• Independent thinking and innovation.
• Maturity in decision-making and advice-giving.
• You may be required to travel overseas for work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and employ qualitative and quantitative methods for evidence-based diagnostics.
• Provide professional advice to enhance individual, team, and unit psychological readiness.
• Improve organisational effectiveness through psychological interventions.
• Lead on best practices in job/appointment assessment.
• Build expertise in psychological interviewing and individual profiling.
• Plan, design, and implement pre, post, and during operations assessment systems.
• Provide immediate crisis management for critical incidents.
• Adapting psychological practices to the unique military environment.
• Balancing individual psychological needs with organisational requirements.
