Job summary

NEWTONE CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise databases, ensuring availability, performance, security, backup and recovery while collaborating with development and infrastructure teams.

The role focuses on installing and maintaining database platforms, tuning performance, enabling high availability, and supporting schema design and upgrades. Strong SQL Server/Oracle experience and relevant certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of robust DBA experience with enterprise databases.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle or equivalent.
• Hands-on performance tuning, schema optimization, partitioning and configuration.
• Experience with high-availability tech: clustering, mirroring, Availability Groups.
• Backup, recovery, security, and disaster recovery expertise.
• SSRS / SSIS ETL experience.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communication skills.
• MongoDB experience is a plus.
• DB certifications from Microsoft, Oracle, or equivalent are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database platforms.
• Monitor database health and perform performance tuning and capacity management.
• Manage database backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability configurations.
• Implement database security, user access controls, permissions, and security best practices.
• Troubleshoot database incidents, perform root cause analysis, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Support database upgrades, patching, migrations, and disaster recovery exercises.
• Work with developers on database schema design, data organization, and application performance improvements.
• Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and technical standards.
