Job summary

SLA invites a seasoned data governance professional to lead the enterprise-wide data governance program in Singapore. You will set priorities, drive the data governance workplan and ensure robust controls across ownership, stewardship, quality, access and retention.

You will work with IT, cybersecurity, legal and audit to embed governance in ICT systems and projects, while guiding incident response and continuous capability-building across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Data or Information Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, data protection, data security or related areas, preferably with leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles including data stewardship, data quality, classification, sharing and access controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the data governance team, set priorities and oversee delivery of SLA's data governance workplan and initiatives.
• Develop, implement and monitor policies, standards and processes covering the data lifecycle including ownership, stewardship, classification and retention.
• Coordinate with ICT, cybersecurity, legal and audit teams to embed data governance requirements into systems and projects.
• Oversee management of data incidents, including response and remediation actions.
• Plan capability-building and outreach to strengthen data literacy, stewardship and security awareness across SLA.
