Job summary

Airwallex in Singapore is seeking a senior Data Engineer for the Knowledge Platform to design and build scalable data pipelines and models powering critical business and AI use cases. You will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to translate complex data needs into reliable, scalable solutions and own projects end-to-end.

The role requires 5+ years in ETL design, strong SQL and data modelling skills, and familiarity with GCP, Databricks, and Airflow.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
At least five years designing scalable ETL pipelines across batch and real-time with DBT and Spark.
Strong proficiency in SQL, data warehousing, and data modelling for BI/ML/operational needs.
Strong understanding of data schemas (star, snowflake, normalised, denormalised).
Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and modern data tools (Databricks, Airflow).
Knowledge of data governance, regulatory requirements in financial industry.
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication and collaboration across distributed teams.
Understanding of AI and applying data engineering/AI creatively.
