Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design scalable data models and manage ETL pipelines across global data platforms. You will work with cross‑functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Data Science to enable BI and AI workloads.

The team focuses on data governance, quality, and secure data pipelines while supporting rapid fintech growth across APAC, EMEA, and the Americas. Remote and on-site collaboration are common in a global setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience (~5 years) in designing and implementing ETL processes with tools like Informatica, Talend or NiFi.
• SQL and data warehousing experience; familiarity with GCP BigQuery and Airflow.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable data models for BI, ML, and operations.
• Build and maintain batch and streaming ETL pipelines from ingestion to delivery.
• Contribute to data governance, metadata, privacy, and lifecycle practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to apply data engineering to AI initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Maths or a related field

Master’s degree is a plus
