Johnson Controls is seeking a Technology Strategy Applications Engineer to define innovative cooling solutions for data centers. You will identify challenges and develop scalable approaches applicable across multiple sites and geographies.

The role emphasizes collaboration with R&D, product management, and field teams to ensure product designs meet market needs and regulatory requirements. Willingness to travel globally is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience designing mechanical cooling systems (chillers, chilled water pumping, storage systems).
• Minimum 5 years in data center industry, designing cooling systems for advanced IT equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mission critical cooling systems, applications, and market trends.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills with ability to influence decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Develop globally applicable reference designs for facility water production for data centers (air-cooled, liquid-cooled, hybrid).
• Engage with partners and stakeholders to author white papers, case studies, or application guides for cooling equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with industry engineers and internal teams to design next-generation cooling architectures for data centers.
• Provide in-depth technical support and guidance on facility water products internally and externally.
• Engage with R&D, Training, Product Management, and Technical Support to align market needs with product strategies.
