Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a seasoned Technology Strategy Applications Engineer to shape data center cooling solutions on a global scale. You will develop scalable reference designs, engage with industry partners, and provide deep technical guidance across internal teams and clients.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical cooling for data centers, exceptional communication, and a proactive, collaborative approach with travel flexibility to meet global needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in mechanical cooling system design (chillers, pumps, storage).
• 5+ years in data center cooling system design for IT equipment.
• Strong knowledge of mission-critical cooling systems and market trends.
• Excellent presentation and influencing skills at all levels.
• Experience drafting product specifications for end users/consultants/installers.
• Background in strategic planning, marketing, and market research.

Responsibilities

• Develop globally applicable reference designs for facility water cooling.
• Author white papers, case studies, and application guides with partners.
• Engage with design community through conferences and events.
• Provide in-depth technical support on facility water products internally and externally.
• Collaborate with R&D, Training, Product Management, and Support teams to align with market needs.
• Ensure tools and collateral support clients with current and upcoming products.
• Build relationships and drive business growth with proactive stakeholder engagement.
