Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Technology Strategy Applications Engineer to identify challenges in data center designers and develop tailored thermal management solutions. You will craft scalable, repeatable facility water concepts applicable across sites and regions.

You will work with industry partners to publish white papers and guides, and engage with engineers and decision-makers to design next-generation cooling architectures. Travel to global sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience designing mechanical cooling systems in data center environments.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within data center industry, with direct cooling system design responsibility.
• Strong technical knowledge of mission critical cooling systems, their applications and market trends.
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers at all levels.
• Proven track record of writing product specifications for end users, consultants, and installers.
• Experience in strategic planning, marketing, and market research.
• Highly developed prospecting skills to identify key stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with teams.
• Travel willingness to support global engagements.

Responsibilities

• Develop globally applicable reference designs for facility water production.
• Engage with partners and stakeholders to author white papers, case studies, or guides.
• Collaborate with engineers, consultants, and designers to shape cooling architectures for data centers.
• Provide technical support on facility water products to internal and external teams.
• Coordinate with R&D, Training, Product Management, and Support to align market needs with product strategy.
