Job summary

Mandai Wildlife Group in Singapore is seeking a Senior Principal Architect for Data Engineering to lead the enterprise data architecture and set standards, patterns, and roadmaps for data extraction, transformation, governance, and visualization across the organisation.

This role blends hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, mentoring junior teams and ensuring data is trusted, secure, and ready to empower business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of data engineering experience including senior/architect roles.
• Proficiency with Fivetran and dbt for data pipelines.
• Proficiency with Streamlit and Power BI for visualization.
• Experience with Python, Java, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Deep knowledge of data governance, security, and enterprise-scale compliance.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and stakeholder communication.
• Experience with Snowflake technologies such as Horizon Catalog, Cortex Code, and Cortex Analyst.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise data architecture and multi-year roadmap across the Group.
• Set standards for scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and analytics platforms.
• Lead build-versus-buy decisions for data orchestration, storage, and visualization.
• Design robust data ingestion, transformation, quality, and lineage at scale.
• Lead analytics, AI, and insight enablement across the organization.
• Establish data governance, security, and privacy controls; ensure compliance.
• Mentor engineers and raise the organisation’s data engineering maturity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
