Job summary

SD Legal is recruiting for a Senior Counsel (Products) position on behalf of a global payments platform headquartered in Singapore. This role involves partnering with key business units to manage complex commercial and regulatory landscapes across the APAC region, with a focus on product development, protection, and commercial growth.

Qualifications

• 8–14 years PQE.
• Tier 1 law school credentials and law firm background.
• Background in Products and Regulation is essential.
• Mix of law firm and in-house experience preferred but not required.
• Strong ability to work across diverse Asian and overseas teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product, sales, and marketing teams to provide real-time legal advice on product development and launch/distribution.
• Manage cross-border regulatory challenges for new products in the APAC region.
• Liaise with in-country counsel and external vendors to anticipate regulatory resource needs.
• Ensure alignment of sales and marketing activities with applicable laws across Singapore, Asia, US, and EMEA.
• Focus split: 70% Product & Regulation, 30% Commercial.
