Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead site-based delivery of AI data center infrastructure including base building, MEP, white space readiness, containment, and enabling works.
• Direct and govern colocation provider execution with accountability for schedule, quality and coordination.
• Drive short-interval planning, look-aheads, constraint removal, and recovery actions to protect critical dates.
• Independently assess delivery plans and progress to identify risk and communicate potential business impacts.
• Coordinate interfaces across design, construction, and commissioning for tenant fit-out and network readiness.
• Own QA/QC execution including ITPs, inspections, NCRs, punch lists, and progressive turnover.
• Ensure construction aligns to approved design intent and manage change control.
• Lead safety performance and compliance with local regulations and OCI requirements.
• Manage contractor and vendor performance and provide evaluation inputs for improvement.
• Run site cadence, provide executive-ready updates, log actions and blockers.
• This is a site-based role in Singapore with up to 25% travel.

The Senior Construction Manager, Data Center Infrastructure Development provides on-site leadership for the execution of mission-critical data center projects in Singapore. Working with project management, design, procurement, commissioning, operations, colocation providers, and contractors, the role oversees construction delivery across base-building, civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, security, and life-safety systems.

The position is accountable for safe site operations, programme and milestone control, quality assurance, contractor performance, risk management, and issue resolution. The role ensures that construction work complies with approved designs, project standards, and applicable local requirements, while coordinating the interfaces needed for tenant fit-out, network deployment, testing, commissioning, and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Construction Leadership (AI / High-Density): Lead site-based delivery of AI data center infrastructure including base building, MEP, white space readiness, containment, and enabling works.
• Colocation Provider Oversight: Direct and govern colocation provider execution to ensure work is delivered to OCI standards, with strong accountability for schedule, quality, and coordination.
• Schedule & Milestone Control: Drive short-interval planning, look-aheads, constraint removal, and recovery actions to protect critical dates and readiness gates.
• Independent Risk Evaluation: Independently assess delivery plans and actual progress to identify risk early, close gaps in mitigations, and clearly communicate potential business impacts.
• Tenant Fit-Out & Network Readiness Integration: Coordinate interfaces across design, construction, and commissioning to ensure base building delivery supports tenant fit-out and network deployment readiness (space, power, cooling, cable routes, access windows, cleanliness).
• Quality Assurance & Closeout: Own QA/QC execution including ITPs, inspections, NCRs, corrective actions, punch lists, progressive turnover, and closeout discipline.
• Design & Change Coordination: Ensure construction aligns to approved design intent; support disciplined change control, field clarifications, and document governance.
• Safety & Compliance: Lead safety performance and compliance with local regulations, codes, standards, and OCI requirements; drive audits, incident learnings, and corrective actions.
• Vendor & Performance Management: Manage contractor and vendor performance, ensure scope compliance, and provide structured provider evaluation inputs for continuous improvement.
• Reporting & Stakeholder Management: Run site cadence (daily/weekly), provide executive-ready updates, maintain action/issue registers, and elevate blockers quickly.
• Site Presence and Travel: This is a site-based role in Singapore requiring strong on-the-ground leadership throughout the project lifecycle, with up to 25% travel as required for project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• Deep data center construction knowledge: Strong expertise across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing in mission-critical environments.
• Lifecycle delivery experience: Proven capability through mobilization, construction, commissioning readiness, and turnover/handover.
• High accountability leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead under pressure, drive delivery discipline, and mentor teams while holding vendors accountable.
• Risk & problem solving: Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills in fast-paced, high-dependency construction environments.
• Commercial awareness: Experience supporting contract administration inputs (variations, claims, EOTs, progress validation) with clear records and evidence.
• Tools & systems: Strong reporting capability and familiarity with document/project platforms such as Aconex, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint, or similar.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 10+ years of experience in data center and/or colocation construction, gained with a GC, colocation provider, or hyperscaler.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale construction outcomes across schedule, quality, safety, and stakeholder expectations.
