Key Responsibilities
White Space and Infrastructure Design
- Assists in the planning, design, and optimizationof data center white space, including rack layout, hot/cold aisle containment,power distribution, cable pathways, and build phases.
- Maintains detailed white space documentation suchas room layouts, rack elevations, bill of materials, and structured cablingdesigns.
- Supports the development of design standards anddrafts Basis of Design (BoD) documents to help internal and partner teamsdeliver consistent white space fit-outs.
- Develops low voltage structured cabling systemsto support scalable, high-performance compute, storage, and network systemsunder guidance.
- Reviews new site layouts and proposed fit-outdesigns, ensuring compliance with standards and providing feedback forimprovements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborates with colocation providers,developers, and internal teams (e.g., facilities, construction, operations) toassist in gathering, translating, and implementing requirements into executablewhite space designs.
- Coordinates with multidisciplinary engineeringfunctions (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire, Controls) to supportrobust integration and ensure reliable system performance.
- Participates in project coordination meetings toalign on scope, timelines, and critical design updates, providing input andfeedback as needed.
- Builds relationship with technology partners(e.g., network, compute, carrier) to locate information and resources.
Project and Program Leadership
- Contributes to white space design initiatives andrelated engineering projects from concept through execution with minimalguidance.
- Collaborates with internal and external projectteam members, including contractors and vendors, during design, fit-out, andcommissioning phases.
- Assists in ensuring project deliverables alignwith company expectations, standards, and schedules.
- Supports contract administration tasks, includingreview of change orders, cost forecasts, and engineering documentation.
- Receives mentorship from senior team members tocontribute to building organizational capability.
Operations Support and Site Validation
- Assists with on-site design validation,commissioning, and engineering analysis at new and existing data centers.
- Supports the validation and integration ofmission-critical systems with ongoing operations.
- Provides engineering support during live eventsand incident investigations to ensure timely resolution and operationalcontinuity, independently.
- Gathers information to draft and maintain allrelevant documentation is captured, stored, and shared with operations andfield engineering teams.
Standards Development and Governance
- Assists in the creation and evolution of globaldata center infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures with minimalguidance.
- Contributes to the development of documentationfor standards adherence, commissioning protocols, and system testing.
- Supports other team members in engaging in designsummits, policy reviews, and commissioning activities to contribute tocontinuous improvement.
Technical Innovation and Engineering Excellence
- Maintains current designs, materials, andconstruction methods for mission-critical systems in data centers.
- Supports the development and testing ofengineering solutions using standard modeling, component testing, andengineering principles.
- Helps create and validate digitized data centermodels to support design integrity and capacity planning.
- Maintains the reliability and performance ofcomponents, systems, and installation methods used in production environments.
- Participates in internal engineering seminars,training programs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Network Expertise
