Job summary

HP R&D SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced connectivity firmware engineer to lead architecture, design, and implementation of low-level firmware for printer connectivity subsystems. You will work across Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and networking layers to ensure robust, secure device connectivity.

The role requires deep expertise in embedded C/C++, RTOS/embedded Linux, and hardware interfaces, with ownership of cross-functional integration and security protocols. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Typically 5–10+ years of embedded firmware experience with connectivity and networking.
• Proven experience leading technically complex firmware projects involving hardware-software integration.
• Ability to lead remote collaboration across time zones, including U.S. Pacific Time and India.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and implementation of low-level firmware and drivers interfacing with connectivity chipsets (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC).
• Own integration of connectivity subsystems using interfaces such as SDIO, USB, UART, I2C, SPI.
• Architect and optimize firmware for wireless module bring-up, initialization, and configuration; power management and system coordination with platform firmware.
• Provide leadership in integrating third-party connectivity modules, vendor drivers, and SDKs.
• Lead debugging and root cause analysis across the full networking stack: physical to application layers.
• Drive cross-layer issue resolution among Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, and IP networking.
• Mentor engineers and influence architecture decisions for new platforms and features.
