Job summary

Alibaba Group in Singapore is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to lead regulatory compliance efforts, oversee internal controls, and liaise with Singapore authorities. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in compliance, Mandarin proficiency, and strong ethics.

You will develop and maintain a robust compliance program, conduct proactive audits, and guide the organization on AML/KYC and regulatory requirements. Expect collaboration with cross-functional teams and external auditors.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years as a Senior Compliance Officer in banking, accounting, e-commerce, payments, or related fields.
• English and Mandarin working proficiency required for coordinating with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
• Knowledge of risk management and industry standards.
• Knowledge of Singapore regulatory requirements (AML/KYC, PSN01, Payment Services Act).
• Excellent communication, integrity and professional ethics.
• BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or related field.
• Professional certification such as ACAMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Protect the company and stakeholders by ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating risks.
• Review operations and provide compliance guidance on transactions and processes.
• Serve as point of contact with Singapore regulators and maintain regulator communications.
• Develop and implement a robust legal compliance program.
• Create and monitor internal controls; draft and revise policies.
• Proactively audit processes to identify weaknesses and compliance gaps.
• Assess compliance risks across business activities and respond accordingly.
• Coordinate with external auditors or regulators when required.
• Set plans to manage crises or compliance violations.
• Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices.
• Keep up-to-date with internal standards and business goals.
• Ensure timely submission of regulatory reports to authorities.
