Dyson is a global technology enterprise. We solve the problems others choose to ignore, with surprising new inventions that defy convention and simply work better. We're driven by progress and thrive on the challenge of relentless improvement. We're growing fast and our ambition is huge - more categories, more locations and more people.
In this role, you will drive the development and execution of the oral care category strategy, ensuring a strong consumer-led portfolio that meets market needs and delivers sustainable commercial growth. You will own the category roadmap across the full product lifecycle, from portfolio planning and new product introduction through to ongoing optimisation and end-of-life management. Working across Dyson, you will partner closely with Engineering, Finance, Operations, Revenue, Office of the CEO and Market teams to ensure consumer, commercial, clinical and business priorities are reflected in key decisions. You will act as the senior category owner internally, using market insights, competitive intelligence and consumer understanding, alongside a working understanding of the regulatory environment oral care products operate in, to shape future opportunities and deliver category performance.
Own category strategy development, grounded in market, consumer and competitive insight across the evolving oral health and personal care landscape. Own business cases across the product lifecycle, making recommendations on risks, opportunities and deviations from agreed objectives. Lead portfolio planning and roadmap discussions, and put forward commercial recommendations for senior decision-making. Hold accountability for category performance, defining and driving actions to improve sales, profitability and market competitiveness.
Own cross-functional launch readiness for new products, setting the plan and holding functions to it. Direct stakeholders to ensure operational, commercial, marketing and market-entry readiness ahead of launch, factoring in market-by-market product registration and approval timelines. Govern launch milestones, risks and dependencies, resolving issues and escalating only where necessary. Oversee forecasting, launch planning and business performance reporting.
Own pricing, go-to-market and category activation strategies. Translate market feedback and consumer insights into briefs for Commercial, Campaign and Creative teams. Partner with global and local teams to ensure consistent positioning, messaging and execution across differing market requirements. Lead development of product claims, value propositions and category narratives, working with Legal, Regulatory and Engineering to ensure claims are substantiated and appropriate for each market.
Build and sustain senior partnerships across Engineering, Finance, Operations, Revenue, Regulatory, Creative and Market teams. Influence senior stakeholders through data-driven insight and sound commercial judgement. Lead cross-functional workstreams and drive alignment on category priorities, including through matrixed and indirect teams. Coach and develop less experienced team members, setting standards for category thinking and execution. Communicate performance, risks and recommendations clearly at leadership level.
Extensive experience in category management, product management, commercial strategy or portfolio management, including time operating at senior manager level. Exposure to oral care, personal care, health or other claims-led categories is an advantage. Proven commercial acumen, with a track record of owning business cases and performance recommendations through to decision. Familiarity with operating in a regulated product environment, and confidence working with Legal and Regulatory partners on claims substantiation and market compliance. Experience leading complex, multi-market cross-functional programmes in a matrix organisation. Strong analytical capability and ability to interpret large, complex datasets, including clinical, consumer and market data. Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills at senior level. Strong project management and execution focus. Comfortable operating in ambiguity, managing competing priorities and driving outcomes through others. Commercially and financially astute, with sound business judgement and a bias for action.
