Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in Singapore is seeking a skilled Machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC Lathe, VTL and milling machines for aerospace components. You will inspect parts mid-process and follow exact manuals, data sheets and work instructions to ensure high quality output.

The role requires 3–5 years in precision engineering or aerospace machining, with strong GD&T reading skills and experience with standard measuring tools.

Qualifications

• NITEC/Technical Certificate in Mechanical/Precision Engineering required.
• At least 3–5 years machining experience in aerospace environment.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T; proficient with measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Set up jigs, fixtures and tooling for machining.
• Operate manual and CNC Lathe, VTL and milling machines.
• Perform in-process inspection using precision gauges and micrometers.
• Comply with engine manuals, technical data and work instructions for all machining operation.
• Initiate and suggest continuous improvement ideas to improve process, productivity and quality; perform TPMs.
• Maintain housekeeping on machines and in work area.
• Comply with safety rules and regulations during course of duties.
• Perform sheetmetal work as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
