Job summary

Qualcomm in Singapore is seeking a CMP Process Development Engineer to own and sustain CMP processes, drive yield and defect reduction, and support daily manufacturing operations.

You will lead DOE activities, process qualification, technology transfer, and cross-functional projects, mentoring junior engineers while ensuring safety and quality compliance.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in engineering and 4+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of semiconductor manufacturing experience with CMP expertise.
• Proven experience in process development, optimization, yield improvement, and HVM support.
• Strong track record in process improvement, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and driving results.
• Knowledge of DOE, SPC, FMEA, JMP/Minitab, and statistical process control.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own and sustain CMP processes to meet yield, quality, productivity, and cost targets.
• Develop and optimize CMP processes for robust manufacturing performance.
• Drive yield improvement, defect reduction, and process capability enhancement.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis using data-driven methodologies.
• Support daily manufacturing operations and resolve process issues promptly.
• Execute process qualification, characterization, and DOE activities.
• Lead tool qualification, process release, and technology transfer projects.
• Drive productivity, capacity, and cost reduction initiatives.
• Monitor and improve key process KPIs (yield, Cpk, defectivity, OEE, throughput).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and global sites.
• Lead technical projects and ensure on-time milestone delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and change management requirements.
