Job summary

Razer in Singapore seeks an experienced backend engineer to design, build, and operate cloud-native microservices at scale. You will lead the transformation from a monolithic platform to multi-region services, focusing on performance, security, and cost efficiency, across AWS and GCP.

We value thorough knowledge of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes, plus strong collaboration skills in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years in an IT-related role with at least 3 years software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Golang or PHP or similar backend technologies.
• Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS; GCP experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, multi-region deployments, and service mesh concepts.
• Proficient in cloud-native technologies including containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs; familiarity with MySQL/PostgreSQL and Redis is advantageous.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; familiarity with Agile/SCRUM.
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy microservice applications on AWS.
• Build and maintain scalable deployment platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tech.
• Develop and maintain mission-critical, high-traffic APIs within your area.
• Leverage containerization and Kubernetes for scalable deployments in cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
• Collaborate with engineering, security, product, operations, and stakeholders to meet requirements.
• Establish engineering best practices, standards, and code review processes across services and regions.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns to grow technical capability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Stay current with cloud infra, distributed systems, AI/ML trends to improve design.
• Provide technical support for production incidents escalated by SRE.
