Job summary

Google Singapore is seeking a Senior Customer Engineer for Infrastructure Modernization within Google Cloud, fluent in Mandarin and English to support APAC customers.

You will influence stakeholders, problem-solve complex technical issues, and collaborate with sales, engineering, and product teams to drive modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in pre-sales or engineering with cloud-related work.
• Experience planning infrastructure modernization as consultant/engineer/architect.
• Experience in a customer-facing role in the enterprise space.

Responsibilities

• Create APAC and country-specific positioning of Google Cloud's Infrastructure modernization platform.
• Assist customer engineers and specialists in understanding the industry landscape.
• Advise on implementation timelines and change management implications.
• Enable cross-regional solution sharing via forums, meetups, events, and microsites.
• Build relationships with Google account teams, sales, services, product management, and partners.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 10 years of experience in pre-sales or engineering with relations to cloud technology and architectures.
• Experience in planning infrastructure modernization as a technical consultant, technical engineer, or enterprise architect.
• Experience in a customer-facing role in the enterprise space.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in networking (e.g., Linux, software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, Domain Name System (DNS), virtual private networks) and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.
• Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable and secure distributed systems.
• In-depth knowledge and skills of cloud infrastructure products across compute (CPU and xPU), storage (block, file, object) and networking (VPC and WAN).
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to support client relationship management cross-regionally.

Responsibilities

• Create APAC and country specific positioning of Google Cloud’s Infrastructure modernization platform, drive the adoption, and conduct technical engagements and pilots around infrastructure modernization solutions.
• Help customer engineers and specialists deeply understand the industry landscape in each country in the infrastructure modernization space.
• Advise customers on implementation timelines, change management implications, and related topics.
• Enable cross-pollinating solution successes across sub-regions through various dissemination vehicles (e.g., community forums, partner meetups, analyst events, microsites, and newsletters).
• Establish working relationships with Google account teams, sales leadership, professional services, product management, solution management, global system integrator partners, and executive staff.
