Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Singapore is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Singapore team, supporting the design and delivery of civil works across building projects. This is a hands-on role that requires coordinating across disciplines and taking designs from concept through delivery with clients, authorities and contractors.

You will own civil design activities, prepare calculations and drawings, coordinate with authorities, and mentor junior staff within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong hands-on civil design and coordination experience.
• Familiarity with local standards (LTA, BCA, PUB) and Eurocodes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver preliminary and detailed civil design across utilities, drainage, sewerage, water supply and stormwater systems.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Develop and assess utility diversion solutions for temporary and permanent works.
• Coordinate authority submissions, tender documents and construction drawings.
• Engage with government authorities, clients, contractors and subconsultants to progress designs and approvals.
• Provide input across earthworks, roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure works.
• Coordinate with structural, architectural, MEP and other disciplines for integrated designs.
• Resolve design and coordination challenges with buildable solutions.
• Take ownership of civil work packages and mentor junior team members.

We’re looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Singapore team, supporting the design and delivery of civil works across our building projects. This is a hands‑on opportunity for an experienced civil engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, coordinating across disciplines and seeing designs through from concept to delivery. You’ll take ownership of civil design activities while working directly with clients, government authorities, contractors and multidisciplinary teams. The role has a strong focus on civil design, authority submissions and stakeholder liaison.

Your role

• Delivering preliminary and detailed civil engineering design across utilities, drainage, sewerage, water supply and stormwater systems.
• Preparing calculations, drawings, specifications and other technical documentation.
• Developing and assessing utility diversion solutions for temporary and permanent works.
• Preparing and coordinating authority submissions, tender documentation and construction drawings.
• Working directly with Singapore government authorities and agencies, clients, contractors and subconsultants to progress designs and approvals.
• Providing technical input across earthworks, roads, drainage, utilities, paving and other civil infrastructure works.
• Coordinating closely with structural, architectural, MEP and other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Resolving design and coordination challenges with practical, buildable solutions.
• Taking ownership of civil work packages and supporting the development of junior team members.

About you

• 5+ years of relevant civil engineering experience, ideally within a design consultancy environment.
• A degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Strong hands‑on civil design and design coordination experience.
• Sound technical knowledge of utilities, drainage, sewerage and associated civil infrastructure.
• Good understanding of Eurocodes, Singapore Standards, Codes of Practice and local statutory requirements, including requirements associated with LTA, BCA and PUB.
• Experience preparing and coordinating authority submissions.
• Confidence engaging with clients, authorities, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong communication, technical writing and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with MicroStation and/or Civil 3D would be advantageous.
