Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd is seeking a Senior Buyer for a global life sciences organisation in Singapore. You will own supplier relationships and manage end-to-end purchasing of direct materials to ensure production and customer commitments are met.

Responsibilities include placing POs, monitoring inventory and forecasts, negotiating terms with suppliers, and driving cost savings while working with planners, quality and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years of purchasing or procurement experience, direct materials preferred.
• Experience in life sciences, medical devices, electronics, or manufacturing is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP system such as SAP.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage end-to-end purchasing of direct materials and components, from requisition to delivery
• Place and follow up purchase orders to ensure materials arrive on time and in full
• Monitor inventory levels, demand forecasts and open orders to prevent supply shortages
• Work closely with planners, production, quality and engineering teams to resolve supply issues
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manage supplier performance
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and terms to achieve cost and service targets
