Job summary
Equalenergie is seeking a highly motivated Senior BESS Specialist to act as the Company’s subject matter expert for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This hands-on role focuses on technical evaluation, development and execution of BESS projects in Singapore, with potential regional involvement.
You will interface with BESS suppliers, system integrators, EPC contractors and other stakeholders, ensuring projects meet technical, safety, performance and quality requirements while supporting
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Engineering or related discipline.
- At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in BESS, renewable energy, power systems or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of battery technologies, PCS, BMS, EMS, SCADA, grid integration and energy storage systems.
- Knowledge of battery safety installation standards (NFPA 855), fire testing compliance (UL 9540/9540A), and local grid connection rules.
- Experience working with BESS suppliers, system integrators, EPC contractors and technical consultants.
- Experience in project execution, technical due diligence and engineering review activities.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Equalenergie's BESS subject matter expert and lead technical evaluations.
- Lead evaluations of BESS technologies, suppliers, configurations and proposed solutions.
- Review technical specs, designs, performance guarantees and warranties.
- Provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain awareness of market developments and best practices.
- Interface with suppliers, integrators and EPC contractors for technical issues.
- Coordinate with consultants, utilities and regulators as required.
- Support project commissioning, testing and handover.
