Job summary

Modern Engineering Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Business Development Director to lead growth across construction, electrical and renewable energy markets.

You will identify opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and drive proposals, tenders and commercial negotiations to secure profitable contracts. You will manage key client relationships, coordinate with estimating and project teams, review pricing and risk, and report sales performance to management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Substantial business development experience in construction, electrical, renewable energy, security systems or related services.
• Proven ability to secure projects, negotiate contracts and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Experience leading business development activities and meeting revenue targets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
• Identify new project opportunities and build relationships with developers, main contractors, consultants, property managers and business owners.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, proposals, tender submissions and commercial negotiations.
• Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers, subcontractors and technology providers.
• Work with estimating and project teams to prepare competitive quotations, confirm project scope and ensure a smooth handover after contract award.
• Review pricing, project margins, payment terms and commercial risks before committing to contracts.
• Manage key accounts, support payment follow-ups and develop repeat business.
• Monitor market opportunities and report sales pipelines, forecasts and business performance to company management.
