Job summary

GIC is seeking a senior Infrastructure Engineer to own on‑premises compute and enterprise backup strategies across global data centres and cloud. You will review designs, drive resilience, and lead multi‑vendor backup platforms to ensure availability and strict recovery objectives.

You will guide and develop engineers, manage RAID logs and SOPs, and collaborate with security teams on PKI and post‑quantum migration, while balancing risk, cost, and performance.

Qualifications

• Typically 12+ years in infrastructure engineering, with 5+ years in enterprise backup and 5+ years leading engineers.
• Deep hands-on expertise with enterprise backup/restore solutions and related platforms.
• Strong knowledge of on‑prem compute: servers, virtualization, HCI, Windows and Linux design.
• Experience protecting workloads on-prem and in AWS/Azure; cyber-recovery design experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and roadmap for on-premises compute and backup across data centres and cloud.
• Review and approve compute designs, push back on substandard vendor designs.
• Engineer and operate enterprise backup platforms (Rubrik, Commvault, etc.) with retention policies.
• Build cyber resilience with immutable copies, isolated recovery and cyber incident environments.
• Lead recovery during major incidents and define RPO/RTO targets with service owners.
• Automate backup compliance checks, reporting, and risk remediation with auditors.
