Job summary

Startale is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own and evolve backend systems powering StartaleApp and related products. You will design APIs, build scalable data pipelines, and integrate blockchain infrastructure for production-grade operation.

You’ll collaborate with product, infra, and protocol teams across Web2 and Web3 stacks, delivering reliable systems with observability and strong performance in a startup environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern backend frameworks.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable APIs and distributed systems.
• Ability to independently design and deliver complex backend systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of backend architecture and implementation across multiple Startale products.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable production APIs and backend services.
• Build and operate high-performance distributed systems with large user bases.
• Design backend systems with focus on scalability, fault tolerance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Build and maintain data pipelines, background workers, asynchronous processing systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Build and maintain blockchain integrations and indexing systems for on-chain data.
• Design efficient database schemas and optimize complex queries for long-term scalability.
• Work across Web2 and Web3 backend infrastructure, integrating traditional systems with blockchain protocols.
• Diagnose and solve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and scaling challenges.
• Build observability, monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling.
• Continuously improve backend architecture, deployment pipelines, and engineering practices.
• Move quickly, take ownership, and deliver production-ready systems.
