Job summary

FPT ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LTD. is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and deliver high‑performance backend services in a regulated enterprise environment. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and microservices, driving scalable, resilient systems.

You will implement RESTful APIs, event‑driven architectures, and streaming integrations with Kafka, while ensuring observability, testing, and CI/CD practices across Kubernetes‑based deployments.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years backend engineering experience in large‑scale enterprise systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
• Experience with Kafka, microservices and distributed architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 11/17, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud.
• Build microservices with clean architecture and asynchronous patterns.
• Implement RESTful APIs, event‑driven components, and backend modules.
• Optimize for performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and low latency.
• Design event‑driven flows with Kafka, ensuring data integrity and retries.
• Develop streaming integrations for real‑time use cases.
• Work with PostgreSQL/Oracle/MongoDB/Redis and other data stores.
• Ensure observability with logging, metrics, and tracing (OpenTelemetry/Prometheus).
• Create and run automated tests (JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers).
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes deployments.
