Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a backend engineer to own merchant payment workflows across the full lifecycle. You will design and optimize modules for onboarding, processing, settlement, and invoicing within a high-availability payments platform.

The role requires strong Java/Go expertise, experience with distributed architectures, and familiarity with caching, queues and databases to ensure secure and scalable operations.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java/Go and mainstream backend frameworks with distributed architecture experience.
• Familiar with caching, messaging queues and databases; able to design core system solutions.
• Understanding of high-availability, data consistency and stability assurance in financial-grade systems.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of merchant payment business scenarios across full payment lifecycle.
• Develop and optimize payment modules: onboarding, processing, settlement, invoicing and tax.
