Job summary

ByteDance’s Global Payment team is seeking a backend engineer to own the merchant payment lifecycle, build and optimize modules for onboarding, processing, and settlement, and drive secure, scalable system upgrades. You will work with caching, queues and databases to ensure data consistency and reliability across high-concurrency, distributed architectures.

Qualifications

Proficient in Java/Go with distributed architecture and high concurrency.
Familiar with caching, message queues and databases; capable of independent core system design.
Deep understanding of high availability, reliability and data consistency.

Responsibilities

Take end-to-end ownership of merchant payment business scenarios across the full payment lifecycle.
Develop and optimize payment modules covering onboarding, processing, clearing, settlement, revenue sharing, and invoicing.
Drive core system optimization and technical upgrades for secure, stable operations.
Continuously improve system performance, scalability and high availability.
Strengthen financial risk controls and compliance across payment systems.
Adopt advanced technologies and engineering practices to improve R&D efficiency and performance.
